Weston Bend State ParkJust outside of Kansas City, Weston Bend State Park provides a history of the local tobacco industry as well as all the wonders nature has to offer. The town of Weston, MO made its name from tobacco production, which still represents a significant portion of the area’s economy. Weston Bend State Park has five tobacco barns on its grounds, and one has even been converted into a shelter for larger groups visiting the park. Outside of the tobacco barns, the park is woven of woods and vistas sure to inspire. The scenic overlook is handicap-accessible and points across the Missouri River, Fort Leavenworth, and the greater beyond. The hiking trail winds its way through the woods to the edge of the bluff showing off more of the grand Missouri. Stroll or cycle along the three mile loop through the hills and woods after enjoying a feast at one of the picnic sites! Weston Bend State Park provides basic and electric campsites with bathroom, shower, and laundry facilities for those who wish to extend their stay. |
