Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area

Nebraska's second largest lake, Lewis and Clark Lake straddles the border between Nebraska and South Dakota. Modern housekeeping cabins are situated on the shoreline, offering a scenic view of the lake and the bluffs. The camping facilities have been a popular area with campers and boaters. RVers will find facilities complete with 30/50-amp electrical hookups. Fees are charged at all camping areas, from minimum cost for the primitive areas to full fees for the modern campgrounds. All types of boating on the lake are permitted, from pontoons to high-powered speedboats to personal watercraft, and the marina offers full amenities, including a pump-out station and 24-hour gasoline availability. Anglers will find a wide variety of species, including walleye, largemouth and smallmouth bass, sauger, bluegill, crappie and catfish. Lewis and Clark is a prime area for bird watchers, especially for bald eagles. Alert visitors can also spot wild turkeys, deer and coyotes.
