Hazen Bay Recreation Area

On beautiful Lake Sakakawea, located just north of Hazen, North Dakota, is the Hazen Bay Campground. The campground is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day but the area is the perfect place for year round activities, including boating, fishing, hiking, biking, wildlife and birdwatching, skiing, skating, ice fishing, and loads of other outdoor activities. There are also nearby historic sites to visit, such as the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center, Fort Mandan, Knife River Indian Villages, Fort Clark, and the Mercer County Historical Museum. The campground offers RV sites, as well as two cabins. Amenities include restrooms with showers, boat ramps and docks, a picnic shelter with tables, a fish cleaning station, fire rings, and a public telephone.
