Summit Campground: Little Missouri National Grassland

In the Midst of the badlands of North Dakota lies the Little Missouri National Grassland, also known as the Dakota Prairie Grasslands. The Summit Campground is located within the grasslands and offers walk in tent sites and pull-through RV sites. No reservations are accepted so space is limited to first come, first served. There are picnic tables and a handicap accessible vault toilet on the premises. There are hiking trails all around to view the majestic scenery and surrounding plant and wildlife. For outdoor enthusiasts, do some hiking or biking along the Maah Daah Hey Trail, or enjoy canoeing, fishing, hunting, and plant and wildlife watching all around the surrounding area. One of the best ways to enjoy the beauty of the North Dakota badlands is with a float down the Little Missouri River, although most canoe trips take a few days to complete. For fishing enthusiasts, there are a number of fishing ponds along the river.
