Canoeing the Missouri River in Montana

The “Canoeing the Missouri River in Montana” trip is offered by Lewis & Clark Trail Adventures and is the perfect way to retrace the path of the Lewis & Clark Expedition through the White Cliffs of the upper Missouri River. The three day guided canoe trip covers 47 miles, passes several landmarks, and teaches travelers about the history of the area and the scenic natural environment surrounding the river. Guests paddle along the gentle current while enjoying the spectacular scenery, such as the beautiful sandstone cliffs and igneous rock formations that line the river, as well as glimpsing the abundant wildlife in the area. The two nights during the canoe trip are spent at sites where original Lewis & Clark encampments took place in 1805. The trip is perfect for novice to experienced paddlers, and for those interested in a longer trip, the 3 day trip can be extended to 6 days. During the extended trip, the canyon deepens and camping is more primitive.
