Painted Rocks State Park

Painted Rocks State Park (a.k.a. Painted Rocks Reservoir State Recreation Area) provides 23 acres of wilderness and outdoors activities in the majestic Bitterroot Mountains. The park is located to the south and west of Hamilton in the gorgeous state of Montana. The park’s forests of pine trees provide a quiet setting for those seeking an out of the way place for adventure and recreation. Visitors can enjoy swimming, boating, and fishing at the Painted Rocks Reservoir, which is a tributary of the West Fork Bitterroot River. The reservoir provides docking and a ramp. Wildlife viewing, bicycling, hiking, and picnicking are other recreational activities popular here at Painted Rocks State Park. Both RV camping sites and tent sites are available for overnight stay. This precious little section of the Bitterroot Mountain Range is a natural treasure and great place to bring the family for an outdoors vacation.
