Helena National Forest

Helena National Forest spans almost one million acres in west central Montana, surrounding the capital city of Montana. Plant and wildlife throughout the forest are quite varied and the diversity of the forests natural and cultural resources offer a wide variety of recreational activities, as well as spectacular scenery.
