Pasco Things To Do

Franklin County Historical Society and Museum

The history of Franklin County is told here through exhibits, artifacts and photos. Learn how Varney Airlines, the precursor of United Airlines, sent its 1926 inaugural airmail flight out of Pasco, where the Franklin County Historical Society and Museum is located. Check out the refurbished 1907 buggy used by doctors making house calls. And see the exhibit on the Lewis and Clark expedition, commemorating their passage through Franklin County. The men set up camp near what is now Sacagawea State Park, at the confluence of the Snake and Columbia rivers, and spent several days trading with the Indians and cataloging the diverse plant and animal life. Washington’s Tri-Cities area, which includes Pasco, has numerous wineries. Waterways abound for sailing, power and pleasure boating, windsurfing and fishing. Trails that can be walked or biked are ideal for viewing plentiful wildlife and birds galore.
