Benton Lake National Wildlife RefugeThe Benton Lake National Wildlife Refuge is comprised of thirteen square miles of native grasslands and wetlands within the Mountain Prairie region of Montana. There are a number of recreational opportunities within the refuge including an auto tour route that offers wildlife viewing, areas that provide chances to view many forms of birds, waterfowl, and ducks, and most especially an observation and photo blind that will allow visitors to watch shorebirds and waterfowl unnoticed while they forage for food, fly through the sky, and perform mating rituals. There is a beautiful view of Benton Lake from a hill. There are also opportunities for hiking, biking, cross country skiing and hunting within the refuge. |
