Lake Ilo National Wildlife Refuge

The Lake Ilo National Wildlife Refuge can be found in North Dakota. The over 4,000 acres are comprised of wetlands, grasslands and prairie. This beautiful area along the lake includes gently sloping hills, terraces and creeks. The Lake Ilo refuge offers an interpretive nature trail, information kiosks that include lists of wildlife and archeological information, picnic tables, charcoal grills, a fishing pier, boat ramp and restrooms. There is also a dam located within the refuge. Visitors to the area can enjoy observing and photographing the many birds and other wildlife that make the area home, especially during the peak spring and fall migration seasons, hiking, fishing and wildlife-oriented boating.
