Boone's Crossing Unit, Big Muddy National Wildlife RefugeThe Boone’s Crossing Unit of the Big Muddy National Wildlife Refuge is located in St. Louis County, Missouri. The area is made up of a mostly wooded island, Johnson Island, which sits in a side channel of the Missouri River, as well as another parcel of land. Johnson Island is only accessible by boat. Visitors to this area can enjoy viewing or photographing the abundant wildlife. There are also areas for fishing and archery only hunting. One portion of Boone’s Crossing Unit sits adjacent to an athletic complex. |
